This is a picture of Nathan’s grandmother and her cousin, whom I’m told was her partner in crime. This picture makes me smile. It just simply makes me happy. I’ve posted some pictures of a couple of projects I’ve used it in. Enjoy.

Print Gocco Experiment
2 11 2006
Print Gocco is an ongoing experiment for me. If you’re not familiar with the Print Gocco systems, they’re screen printing set ups from a Japanese company, Riso . Designed to be used by the everyday consumer, it doesn’t use any of the messy chemicals or complicated exposure processes that traditional screeen printing calls for. With home computers and printers becoming readily available, demand for the product declined and Riso no longer manufactures the Print Gocco machines for the US market.
I discovered Print Gocco while wandering around in the magical Internet world of flickr and promptly bought one off eBay . I still have so much to learn but I’m enjoying myself every step of the way. The biggest challenge is figuring out what will print well. My most recent purchase was the Stamp Kit , which is basically like taking your Print Gocco off road. My first project with the stamp kit was a logo for The Late Virginia Summers to use on t-shirts. I did a test print on a muslin bag I had laying around and I’m pleased with how it turned out. It is admittedly muddy and lacks the detail of the original, but I think I like that.
